In the bustling town of DIK, tragedy struck when a blast occurred at Tank Adda, just a stone’s throw away from our TCS Branch office. The target seemed to be a police van, resulting in unfortunate police fatalities. Among those caught in the aftermath was our dedicated NSA Courier, Mr. Fiaz Mehmood Khan.
Mr. Fiaz was on duty, passing through the area at the time of the blast. The impact was severe ball bearings pierced deep into almost every part of his body, his arm was fractured and his skin had been burnt on his legs and back. It was a moment of distress for all of us.
However, what transpired next serves as a testament to the compassionate culture deeply ingrained within TCS. Our Chairman, Mr. Khalid Nawaz Awan took the initiative to personally visit the hospital and inquire about Mr. Khan’s well-being. This seemingly simple yet profoundly impactful gesture conveyed a powerful message – our leadership is firmly behind us, particularly during times of adversity.
The challenges were significant. Mr. Khan’s injuries were serious and his healing would take time. His family, already dealing with the recent Cesarean section of his wife and the loss of their newborn, faced an additional burden. But the TCS family rallied together.
Our DIK Station Manager, Mr. Masood Laghari, immediately visited Mr. Khan in the hospital, ensuring that he had the support he needed. Two couriers selflessly donated blood during his surgery, exemplifying the spirit of unity within TCS. The commitment to providing financial support for Mr. Khan’s treatment reinforced the idea that we are more than just colleagues – we are a family.
However, the challenges didn’t end there. Mr. Khan’s belongings, including his cell phone, motorcycle and courier bag were in the possession of the police. Yet, the TCS management remained resilient in their efforts to ensure Mr. Fiaz’s well-being. The blast area was declared prohibited but our local management was instructed to safely search for TCS assets and gather details about Mr. Khan, surrounded by local security agencies in the hospital.
As we navigate this difficult time, let’s take a moment to reflect on the care culture that defines TCS. It’s not just a company; it’s a family that stands united in the face of adversity. Together we hope and pray for Mr. Fiaz’s speedy recovery and extend our thoughts to all those affected.
In promoting the care culture of TCS, let’s continue to support one another and demonstrating that in the TCS family, no one stands alone.
Stay strong, stay united.
